I heard a statistic a few days ago that alarmed me. Approximately 850 million people worldwide live in chronic hunger. Every year almost 8.8 million people die due to hunger caused issues. Are you alarmed yet? Let’s just be gut-wrenching honest for a second. No. Neither am I. As Americans we hear these kinds of stats all the time. We are numb to that.

Those that are not go so far as to help feed the hungry locally. We make lunches, soups, and meals-on-wheels. Fewer of us actually get outside our comfort zone and serve a meal personally to those who are hungry. Again, let’s be gut-wrenching honest. Most of us would never go that far unless we had friends to socialize with as we served. We must get something out of it.

Now here is the alarming part… It is estimated by several organizations that it would take 16 billion US dollars to effectively end world hunger. Let’s do the math. At the time of this writing the USA has a population of 303,248,272. For those of you without the courage to do something about this (without expecting anything in return) you are off the hook for $54. Get it? $54 will get you a satisfying, feel good dose of hunger-ending crack. All faiths are welcome. Christians, atheists and muslims unite! The crack pipe does not discriminate. Pass the pipe.
