For some strange reason I have found myself among several debates in the past months about Faith and Logic. Some say they are the antithesis of each other. Every time the controversy arises those who insist logic is the means to define life are usually the same ones who fall on the atheistic side of the God or no God argument. They also tend to fall on the evolution side of the creation vs. evolution tiff. Lately I heard two different people say something to the effect of “If you can make all this God/Christian stuff make logical sense to me, then I will believe in it.”
Interesting… “Then I will believe”? That is a choice. They make my point without my intervention. I submit this: To all who stand on the logic side I ask… Do you have children? If so, you believe in them right? Do they always make logical sense? Do they always make logical decisions? Yet you choose to believe in them. And you devote yourself 100 percent to that belief and choice. That sounds like a tremendous amount of faith to me!
Seems to me it takes a lot of FAITH to believe in each other. Seems to me it takes a lot of FAITH to believe in ourselves. Seems to me it takes a lot of FAITH to believe in Darwin’s theories. Seems to me it takes a lot of FAITH to believe in logic. Seems to me if you took all that FAITH and put it into the One who created FAITH and logic you will find that which is far more relevant; the unconditional love of Jesus Christ demonstrated by his sacrifice for you. Try explaining that with logic.
