I am working in Colorado this week. Part of my morning ritual consists of reading World News. Today I read some staggering facts…
– Hunger kills 6m children a year.
– Many deaths result from treatable diseases such as diarrhea, pneumonia, malaria and measles.
– At the World Food Summit in 1996, world leaders announced a plan to halve the number of hungry people by 2015. This goal now seems out of reach.
– The world will have 100 million extra hungry people by 2015, scientists say.
from BBC.CO.UK
Think this is only in Africa?
–According to the Bread for the World Institute (http://www.bread.org/hungerbasics/domestic.html) 3.5 percent of U.S. households experience hunger. Some people in these households frequently skip meals or eat too little, sometimes going without food for a whole day. 9.6 million people, including 3 million children, live in these homes.
The problem is getting worse. What? How could this be in a technogically advanced world? I think it’s easy to blame and feel sorry or apathetic for those affected. My heart breaks for them. However, it breaks more for those of us who are not affected - you and me. I have been to several “hunger/poverty stricken” countries.
Though they may not have food, most have something you and I lack: FAITH in God on a daily basis to provide ALL that we need.

If you know me, you know I am an avid Christian/Worship music fan. Actually… I’m not. I find most of the music to be a soft copy of what we find in mainline/secular music today. In my humble opinion, you can take just about any top pop song and substitute some of the words with words like Holy, Jesus, Spirit, etc. and you have a Christian hit in the making.
However, once in a while I find a Christian cd that grips me. Maybe you have had the same experience? Right now I have one I have been playing repeatedly. It seems God is using it to speak words of encouragement to me. And I’m willing to see if cd’s truly are indestructible with this one. Bottom line… buy it. You won’t be sorry. The lyrics are truly annointed on this one.
If you have read my previous blogs then you are already familiar with how the band One Hundred Hours came into being. Now take it another step further and BUY THEIR LATEST CD called “Stronger Than My Heart.” {{The words in caps are subliminal.}} Seriously, check it out. You won’t be sorry.

Act now! And you’ll get a free set of Ginsu knives! They chop through a tin can and a tomato with ease.
But wait… there’s more! If you are not completely satisfied, simply keep the cd and do nothing. Or you can give it to someone else because there is NO money back guarantee from me. Just be glad you helped another fine ministry who seeks the will of God in their lives.

Somewhere between you and me
… sits a mother who made bad choices.
… cries a mom facing consequences.
… survives an innocent child affected by her mother’s mistakes.
… lies a mom who lost hope long ago.
… resides a non-supportive husband who turns a deaf ear.
… finds a daughter caught in a vicious cycle.
… runs a little girl; away from her problems.
… clings a mother holding on to life.
… exists a mom who is crushed.
Somewhere between you and me
… sits the King of Mercy.
… cries the Holy Spirit.
… survives Jesus - the lamb who was slain.
… lies an empty tomb.
… resides everlasting love.
… finds the Father with arms wide open.
… runs a river full of the tears of God for us.
… clings forgiveness in robes of white.
… exists passion for our brokenness.
… for Karen and Marlena
